Our Mission:

Church Activities

Session - Governing Board of the church. Establishes policies and oversees activities of the church.

Board of Deacons - Responsible for ministering to those in need and the sick; prepares the elements for the Communion services.

Board of Trustees - Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the church building.

Monday Night Prayer Group - Members and friends of the church gather for prayer.

Bible Studies - Study of God's Word. Groups meet at church and in homes.

Christian Youth Development - Youth ministry.

Presbyterian Women - Responsible for the study and implementation of women's issues and activities; also focuses on issues of peace and justice in the community.

Presbyterian Men - Responsible for study and implementation of men's issues. Explores / discusses community issues as they affect young males.

Mom's Kitchen - Prepares meals each Thursday for needy people in the community.

Choirs - Responsible for the music for the worship services. There is an adult choir and a junior choir.

Circle of Love - Ministers to shut-ins by way of cards, notes, and telephone calls.

Stewardship Committee - Responsible for raising the conscious level of church members regarding the stewardship of time, talent, and money.

Hospitality Committee - Members are greeters on Sunday mornings and at all worship services. Organizes the coffee hour.

Membership Committee - Responsible for calling on or otherwise contacting visitors and encouraging them to return. Organizes "Bring A Friend to Church" Sundays. Follow-up of visitors and integration of new members.

Christian Education - Responsible for the preparation of materials for the New Member Classes; conducts training classes for new members. Also arranges classes on a variety of religious topics.

Sunday School - Responsible for religious eduction of children.

Benevolence Committee - Reviews and recommends missions both in this country and abroad for support by Eastchester Presbyterian Church.

Ushers - Responsible for organizing and seating worshipers during church services. Also take up offering.

Farrell Learning Enrichment Centers (FLEC) - After-school center for children in grades K-5th.

Shepherd's Log - Bi-monthly publication of Eastchester Presbyterian Church incorporating news and views of church members.

Philemon Ministry - Sponsors and assists recently released offenders. Sponsors Angel Tree Project and holds Christmas party for children whose parents are still incarcerated.

Music Committee - Plans musical programs and concerts at the church
